Hi, I’m Ellie Hoffey—a cinematographer, photographer, and camera
assistant based in Denver, Colorado. I started out in high school
doing portrait photography, drawn to capturing my friends in special
moments.
I actually began college as an anthropology major, but during COVID
I realized what I really wanted was to be behind the camera
full-time—observing life and telling stories. Now I’m studying Film
Production at the University of Colorado Denver, focusing on camera
work.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked on all kinds of
projects—documentaries, narrative films, weddings, concerts—and I’ve
found that I love the technical side of filmmaking the most. I
especially enjoy working as an assistant or in support roles. I’m
calm under pressure, good at problem-solving, and always looking for
ways to make things run more smoothly.
Whether I’m pulling focus, troubleshooting gear, or helping set up
a shot, I’m happiest when I’m behind the camera.
